Life Steps

Our lives are punctuated by moments of great significance. Our village churches offer beautiful locations for these life events.

Baptisms

We are delighted to welcome children and adults to be baptised into the churches at a time to suit you. For more information about the meaning of baptism go to Christenings

Anyone can get in touch to find about having their child christened. During a christening your child will be baptized with water. It’s the start of an amazing journey of faith for your child and a special day for all your friends and family. Please complete this form to apply for your child's baptism and email the relevent church.

Christenings of children and adults can be arranged as part of a regular service or as a separate service.

If you live outside the parish, but wish your child to be baptised at St John's – perhaps because you were married here or previously had children baptised here – you will need to contact your local parish to get their goodwill for the service to take place within our parishes.

For more information go to the Christenings page of the Church of England website. This includes a really helpful  Guide for Godparents

Please email the individual Church for more information
